Vania is one of three children of single mother Angelica that are part of the CDL family. Her older sisters Ivone and Ivanna also attend CDL with her. They arrived at Casa de Luz in October 2017, after many moves and changes in her life. In late 2016, Angelica left her husband due to his physical abuse, spent some time with her children in a safe house, and then ended up here in Primo Tapia. Angelica had previously been a part of La Hermosa church, so when they arrived here she says that it felt like she was coming home. During her time in the safe house, Angelica finished her high school degree, and dreams of starting to study at the university in 2018. Vania is a very quiet, but friendly, little girl who we have slowly been getting to know here at CDL since her arrival. She has made some good friends with the other girls in her CDL class, which have really helped her to ‘come out of her shell.’ Before coming to CDL, Angelica was struggling to find care for her children, often leaving them at home alone in the care of her oldest daughter because she had no other alternative for their care and couldn't afford to pay for someone to watch them while she worked. We continue to pray for this family, that God would bless Angelica and really touch and heal her heart so that she has the confidence in herself to make positive decisions for her family. And of course for her children, that God would bless them and heal them from all that they have been through.
