My Story

Ximena (pronounced “he-may-na”) and her older brothers, Brayan and Aaron, are the children of single Mother Guadalupe ("Lupita"). Brayan and Aaron have been attending CDL since our opening in 2011. They were one of the first families we accepted into CDL, and Ximena was born 2 years later in 2013.  

Aaron is part of CDL’s Youth Mentorship Program and Ximena attends the Children’s Center. She loves spending her days at CDL, it has become a second home to her. She has made many friends, and loves the crafts, activities, and all that she is learning at CDL. 

Ximena’s mother works in the kitchen at a local restaurant, as well as at CDL’s new small business K47 Café. This year Lupita also started building a home for her family! We are so proud of her and all that she has accomplished! We have seen God’s healing and restoration of Lupita and her family over the years that they have been a part of the CDL family. We have seen how God has returned their hope to them and given them dreams and goals for the future.
