My Story

Valentina’s aunt, who has taken on the role of parenting her, came to Casa de Luz in the Spring of 2023, because she works two jobs in order to support Valentina and had no one to care for her while she worked. Tragically, Valentina and her mother were in a car accident that took her mother’s life and left Valentina first, in a coma, and now with many ongoing medical issues that caused major setbacks in Valentina’s life. We are so thankful that Valentina’s aunt sought help through Casa de Luz as they seek to build their new life together through this difficult time of grief and adjustment. Valentina’s aunt, Irma’s dream is for her to have the opportunity to develop like other children her age, and eventually that she would be able to integrate into school. 

Valentina is a sweet and cheerful girl; despite all the adversity she has faced, and we look forward to walking alongside this family towards healing and all that God will do in and through them.
