My Story

Emmanuel is the son of Manuel, a member of the Casa de Luz construction crew. Throughout the pandemic, like many teens, Emmanuel felt very disconnected and found it difficult to reengage when it was possible again. He became very shy, withdrawn, and found it difficult to socialize or make friends. Then, one of the boys who is a part of CDL’s youth mentorship program invited him to join and it has made such a difference in his life. He now has the support and encouragement of youth mentors, he has made many friends, and we are seeing him grow and mature in really neat ways. We are so thankful that Emmanuel has found the support and care he needed, and he is a different boy today!
