My Story

Hellen and her older sister Daleysa, along with their mom Berenice, have been a part of the Casa de Luz family since the summer of 2024. Berenice came to CDL asking for help after a co-worker who attends our partner church, La Hermosa, suggested she seek support. Berenice works as a nurse at the health center right next door to CDL’s Children’s Center. Before coming to CDL she would drive for over an hour each day to drop her girls off individually with people she trusted to watch them. This meant that Hellen and sister were separated each day with different caregivers while their mom worked. We are so thankful that she came to seek help. Hellen is a joyful toddler who loves to smile and give everyone hugs! She loves dancing and doing the actions to kids songs. We look forward to seeing her grow and to see all that God will do in and through her family.
