My Story

Daleyza and her sister Hellen, along with their mom Berenice, have been a part of the Casa de Luz family since the summer of 2024. Berenice came to CDL asking for help after a co-worker who attends our partner church, La Hermosa, suggested she seek support. Berenice works as a nurse at the health center right next door to CDL’s Children’s Center. Before coming to CDL she would drive for over an hour each day to drop her girls off individually with people she trusted to watch them. This meant that Daleyza and her baby sister were separated each day with different caregivers while their mom worked. We are so thankful that she came to seek help. Daleyza is a very active little girl who loves playing outside. She loves to chat with whoever will listen, and she really enjoys going to school
