My Story

Eimy, her younger sister Marlene, and their single mother, Esmeralda arrived in Primo Tapia from a very difficult journey. They are from a state in the south of Mexico and had nowhere to live after Eimy’s father kicked the girls and their mom out of the family's home as he decided to start a new relationship. With nowhere to go, they first went to Eimy’s grandmother’s home, but her life was filled with drugs and instability. From there they came to Primo Tapia where Eimy’s very loving great-grandparents live. They were so thankful to have Eimy, her sister and mother with them, offered them a room to stay in and became their safe place. But because of their age, they could only offer the little they had, and that’s when Esmeralda came to CDL asking for help. We are so thankful to journey with this family as they finally have the stability they need. Eimy is a very shy but sweet little girl. She has adapted very well to Casa de Luz and loves learning about Jesus and making new friends.
