Lucia and her little brother, Leonel, are the children of single mother, Betsua. We first met this family after there was a very large fire in Primo Tapia that came dangerously close to where Betsua and her children were living. They were asleep and heard neighbours calling for them to get out of their house. Thankfully, they escaped from the area and went to a local shelter. This is where we met them and learned of Betsua’s need for help as a single mother. They have now been a part of the CDL family since that day during the Winter of 2025. 

When we gave Betsua the news that they could be a part of CDL she was so happy. Finally, she could go to work with the peace of knowing that her children were being well cared for, fed, and loved.  

Lucia is a friendly and kind little girl who has easily made friends at Casa de Luz. She loves drawing and colouring and anything artistic. We are so thankful to have Lucia and her family with us, and we look forward to seeing all that God will do in and through this family.
