My Story

 Jesus is the only child of single mother, Marielba. Jesus’ mom came to CDL asking for help because she had no one to help care for him while she worked to provide. They have been a part of CDL since the Spring of 2025 when Jesus was just 5 months old. Jesus’ father left when his mother was just pregnant with him, abandoning both of them and leaving Marielba to provide for Jesus on her own. Marielba works at Marilu’s, a restaurant that is owned by a former CDL mom. Jesus is an incredibly sweet and smiley little baby. In his short time with us we have seen him grow in health as he now has the nutrition he so desperately needed. We are so thankful to have them with us at Casa de Luz, and we can’t wait to watch little Jesus grow!
