Mateo is the youngest son of single mother, Elena. She has 3 older sons, but they do not attend Casa de Luz. Mateo’s mom came to Casa de Luz asking for help after she opened her own cake business to provide for her children. She had always had Mateo with her at work, until one day he had an accident, and he ended up in the hospital. Since then, Mateo’s mother knew she needed a place for him to be while she worked. 

Mateo is slowly adapting to being away from his mother during the day and settling into the routine and stability of Casa de Luz. It is a place where he can run and play with other kids and receive the care and attention he needs while his mom is working. We are so thankful to have Mateo and his mother with us at Casa de Luz, and we look forward to all that God will do in and through their lives.
