Estefanie is the oldest of 3 siblings to single Mother, Maribel. Her younger brother, Mario and sister, Sofia also attend CDL with her. Estefanie is a very friendly, intelligent, outgoing little girl who loves playing dress-up, inventing fashion designs, and making crafts like slime. Maribel came to Casa de Luz desperately asking for help after she arrived in Primo Tapia from the southern state of Michoacan in 2016. She had found a job as a dishwasher at a local restaurant and had no one to care for her children while she worked. When we interviewed Maribel, prayed with her, and gave her the news that her children would be accepted into Casa de Luz, she cried tears of joy and thankfulness! Since that time, Maribel has started working as a maid and cook for a family. She has found such a sense of stability since becoming a part of the CDL family. Her work is stable and her children are doing very well. This past year she took a baking course from a lady who attends La Hermosa church and makes cakes for birthdays, weddings and special events. Maribel has incredible creativity and has done very well with the course. Occasionally she has people ordering cakes from her now! Maribel has dreams of having her own bakery business one day. We are so thankful that God has given us the opportunity to partner with this family, and we are excited to see all that God is going to do in and through them. Maribel wants you to know that, “I am so thankful for the support of Casa de Luz. You have given me so much peace in knowing that my children are being cared for by you angels that God has brought into my path.” She also asks that you continue to pray for her and for her children.
