My Story

Andoeni is one of four children of single Mother Violeta. Andoeni and her brothers have attended CDL since 2013. Her older brothers Luis and Isaac attend CDL's Youth Mentorship Program, and her younger brother Yair is in CDL's children’s program with her daily. Andoeni's Mom Violeta came to Casa de Luz asking for help in the fall of 2013, after she separated from her husband. Initially, Violeta and the children went through an extremely difficult time as she struggled to provide for 4 children on her own. Since they have come to CDL, however, Violeta and her children have finally found the stability that they so desperately needed in their lives. Violeta told us that her dream is that she would "continue to give my children peace and security, so that I can support my children however I can and provide for my family." When we interviewed Violeta and gave her the news that her children would be accepted into Casa de Luz, she was overwhelmed and cried tears of thankfulness! She is also enrolled in our on-site English as a Second Language program and is working towards learning English with us. Violeta asks that you would be praying for her, that God would give her strength to keep moving forward and the strength to keep working as hard as she can for her family.
