Single Mother, 4 Children

Listening to music and hanging out with friends
Nancy, Karen, Brayan and baby Paulette are the children of single Mother, Norma. Nancy attends CDL's youth mentorship program and is a very quiet but friendly young lady. Nancy has really found her place amidst the CDL youth group and enjoys the various activities they do. Nancy and her family arrived at CDL in April 2013, after returning to Mexico from the United States. The family arrived in Primo Tapia in a very desperate situation as Norma had no one to care for her children while she worked. Shortly after arriving in Primo Tapia, she got a job working in housekeeping at a local hotel where she heard about Casa de Luz, and came to inquire. Her children started attending CDL daily, and slowly Norma has started to put the pieces of her family back together. When she arrived at CDL, Norma had only partially completed her middle school education. Since attending CDL, she graduated from middle school in CDL’s Education Completion Program and is now working on her high school education with us. Norma tells us that one of the greatest goals that she has for her life is to finish her studies. Also since coming to CDL, Norma began working at a restaurant operated by another CDL Mom, Marilu, as her kitchen supervisor. It has been a joy to see the way God has restored Norma’s joy to her, and how Nancy and her siblings have learned to know and trust Jesus and to look forward to their future with hope and expectation.
