My Story

Roxana is the oldest of single mom Cristina’s 2 daughters. Roxana attends CDL’s Youth Mentorship Program while her sister is at the Children’s Center every day. Roxana and her family have been a part of CDL since April 2014. Cristina is a very hard-working and dedicated mother, who loves her children very much. She came to CDL asking for help with her daughters, as she had been hired at a local gas station and had no one to care for her daughters while she worked. Since being a part of CDL, Cristina completed her high school education and, in the fall of 2018, enrolled herself in a local university to study Education. In 2021, Cristina graduated from the university with a teaching degree. It has been an absolute joy to see the way that Cristina has taken the opportunities we have offered her, combined it with her own efforts, and seen tremendous growth and change in her family.
