Hi, I’m Abi and I’m very thankful to be the first CDL Mom who was a part of the program and is now part of the staff!

My daughter began attending the Children’s Center and through being at CDL I saw a joy in her that I wanted. God changed my life through being a part of the program and now I get to help others who are going through similar things that I went through.

Since I was very young I always dreamed of being a teacher. I would make all of my cousins play ‘school’ with me and be my students. When I completed my Masters of Inclusive Education, Casa de Luz was where I wanted to work. It was my first choice because I could see the difference they were making in so many lives.

I started as a teacher, then became program director, and am now focused on working specifically with CDL Moms in a mentorship and spiritual discipleship role. I have lived what so many of the women are experiencing and I feel blessed to be walking alongside them as they learn, grow, and make a better way for their future and the future of their children.
