Nicole is one of 3 children of single mother, Marilyn. She attends CDL with her brother Adan, and her older sister Fernanda is part of CDL’s Youth Mentorship Program. Nicole is a very friendly and outgoing little girl. She has absolutely loved being at CDL, playing with the toys and the other little girls. She's very much a 'girly-girl'. Nicole’s Mom Marilyn came to Casa de Luz asking for help in August 2015 after she separated from her husband. After the separation, Marilyn had nowhere to live and wasn't able to provide for her children. They were going hungry. She and her children had been living with a friend of Marilyn's temporarily until they could find a room for rent. Marilyn has no family and very few friends here in Primo Tapia. She came to CDL asking for help because she had no one to care for her children while she worked. At the ages of 6, 7 and 9, her children were staying home alone. When we interviewed Marilyn and gave her the news that her children would be able to attend Casa de Luz, she was overwhelmed with thankfulness! We are so thankful God has given us the opportunity to partner with this family, and we are excited to see all that God is going to do in and through them.
