My Story

Katherine and her sister Maria are the children of single mother, Elizabeth. Katherine’s mom came to Casa de Luz asking for help in the spring of 2023 because she had no one to care for her children while she worked. 

Katherine is a very sweet but shy little girl. She likes to pretend to cook and tells us that when she grows up, she will be a chef. She is also very smart! Katherine loves going to school and especially likes her math class. 

 Katherine’s mom works in a local supermarket and would have to take her children to work with her but was afraid she would lose her job because of this and then have no way to provide for them. This is where she learned of Casa de Luz.  

 We are so thankful to have this family with us at CDL. Please pray for Katherine and her sister Maria, that God would heal their hearts from all that they have been through, and for Elizabeth, that God would give her the strength and peace that she seeks.
