My Story

Aaron and his older brother Brayan and little sister Ximena are the children of single Mother Guadalupe ("Lupita"). Aaron is a naturally gifted soccer player who has developed good friendships with the other teens that are part of CDL’s Youth Mentorship Program. Aaron was one of the first children that we accepted into Casa de Luz 12 years ago and now he is in high school! Aaron has gained the confidence to begin learning and discovering new things! Last year, he began learning to box at a local boxing school and in the winter of 2023, he went on the first-ever CDL youth missions' trip to the south of Mexico where he was very impacted by the experience of serving needy children and families. We have seen God’s healing and restoration of Aaron’s mom Lupita and her family since they joined the CDL family. God has returned hope to them and given them dreams and goals for the future.
