My Story

Kevin and his older brother Jose have been part of the CDL family since the winter of 2020. Kevin arrived at CDL as a very shy little boy who was extremely undernourished and small for his age. Thanks to the support of CDL and the regular pediatric care that he is now receiving, Kevin has slowly been gaining weight. Along with his weight gain, his personality has started to come alive and now he loves to run, dance and play with the other little boys at CDL. His favorite color is blue. Kevin’s Mom Cristina came to Casa de Luz asking for help in the winter of 2020, after she was unexpectedly widowed. Cristina had never worked outside of her home, and she had recently started working at a local greenhouse. Since she had no one to care for her sons while she worked, she came to CDL to ask for help. Already, the love, support and stability that CDL has provided for Kevin has been transformational in his life, and we are so thankful that God has given us the opportunity to partner with this family.
